Learn to Dance in the Rain

Updated: Mar 18, 2020

Learn to dance in the rain. This is one of main values that I learnt during my early years in HR. The act of utilitarian solidarity for the greater good will not sit well with many, however, sometimes you have no choice. Either you grudgingly get soaking wet, or you can look upwards and learn to dance in the rain. How often have we wanted to spend those precious moments at home, how often did we yearn to clean up our messes in our cupboards, how often have we posed the reason of family as an excuse? Now is the MOMENT to SHOW UP! We have been given a moment in the storm. The next 14 days, believe me will ZOOM by (no pun intended), and we will regret it, if we choose to do nothing. This teachable moment, is not only for us, but for our future generations. I learnt this unknowingly from my grandmother when she used to tell me stories of her struggles, her activities during WW2 in Malaya, the Curfew during Kuomintang days. IT is OUR turn. p/s: feel free to adapt the below, keep some time for your work, and for individual times, and don't sweat it if half of it don't go as plan.
