Mid-life Crisis - Myth or Reality

I turned the BIG 4 - 0 last year.

It was and still is a great A-HA journey for me. Trust me, mid-life crisis is REAL. Just depends on how you handle and manage it, just like any other crisis.

Option A: Denial - Growing amount of wrinkles, and decreasing hairlines - how long can you hide? Frankly, the longer you deny it, the lesser time you have left for the rest of your glorious years.

Option B: Freak - Out - Go get a tattoo, party all night, find a new mate, buy that sports car - eventually you either run out of energy, friends, family or cash. Being poorer at 40 is simply not right. Furthermore, how do I say NO to my pre-teen son when he starts to ask for all of the above?

Option C: Embrace it - Actually I zoomed through Option A and Option B before my birthday, and during the trip of a lifetime with Rena and Yasmin to Tuscany, I decided that I have so much to offer and change the way I will live the rest of my life.

It wasn't easy. Hormonal wise, I was a mess. Weight gain, hair loss, mood swings. Career wise, cruising along, but no final destination. Home wise, need more family time. Self wise, huge epiphany moment. I started guitar lessons, I started gym, I started doing what REALLY matters to me... I just started.

I am glad, I started.
